Up in the air
You probably know the feeling - when things haven’t quite settled, when everything is up in the air. It can feel uncertain, but it’s also an opportunity: A chance to gain an overview, let things find their right place - or simply enjoy the beauty of randomness. Here, I have explored the idea of everything being up in the air - and what that might mean. I hope you’ll let yourself be swept away.
Creativity
The creative mind is unpredictable. It is always interesting to see where the mind takes us when we let it wander. I have tried to capture the idea of creativity and how ideas feel when they are almost ready to take off.
Taking off
You have probably experienced it yourself - you are passing a tree or a building, and suddenly, the birds living there decide to take off, as if they have made a silent decision together. It seems both chaotic and controlled at the same time. Even though the birds are not in the foreground here, they are still at the heart of the image.
Transparence
At first glance, it looks like a classic landscape: a creek, green hills, animals in the distance. But then you notice the transparent trees, hovering lightly in the light - like a dream not yet fully formed.
Nest of whispers
There are moments when thoughts drift away as if untethered from time. On a train journey, at dusk, or when sleep is slowly approaching. This image captures that feeling - when the mind becomes a nest of whispers.
Lysandra
The name itself has a beauty to it. It means liberator, and the woman in the picture captures this meaning with her eyes and posture. Lysandra is also a genus of butterflies – or sommerfugle, as they are called in native Danish. It literally means birds of summer, so hopefully, she is looking ahead to brighter days.
Icon
As many of you know, I often return to the theme of portraits of females carrying or interacting with animals. Here you’ll find an icon-like quality in the position of the hand and the bird, combined with the halo-like glow of her hair.
Letting go
It is all too easy to keep holding on to problems, worries, and grudges. But when you find the strength to let them go, it feels great – like a literal burden has been lifted from your shoulders. In this picture, I have explored that feeling.
When the lights go on again
The birds in the sky, the female character sheltered or in hiding under the umbrella – but the first thing that catches the eye is the lamppost with its cozy light shining on it all. A quiet reminder that darkness never lasts forever.
