Up in the air
You probably know the feeling that not everything is settled, that everything is up in the air. It can feel uncertain, but it is also a chance to gain an overview and help everything find its right place – or just enjoy the randomness of it all. Here I have worked with the notion that everything is up in the air – and what it could mean. Enjoy!

Creativity

The creative mind is unpredictable. It is always interesting to see where the mind takes us when we let it wander, and I have tried to capture the idea of creativity and how ideas feel when they are almost ready to take off.

Taking off

You have probably experienced it yourself – you are passing some trees or buildings, and suddenly, the birds living there decide to take off, as if they have made a silent decision together. It seems both random and controlled at the same time. Even though the birds are not in the foreground here, somehow to me, they are the main motif.

Transparence

At first glance, this is a classic landscape: The creek, the green hills, the animals. But suddenly, you notice the transparent trees adding a dreamlike lightness.

Nest of whispers
The feeling of being lost in your thoughts, whether during a train trip or while the arms of sleep are trying to catch you, is encompassed in this picture. Your mind becomes a nest of whispers.

Lysandra

The name itself has a beauty to it. It means emancipator, and the woman in the picture captures this meaning with her eyes and posture. Lysandra is also a genus of butterflies – or sommerfugle, as they are called in native Danish. It literally means birds of summer, so hopefully, she is looking ahead to brighter days.

Icon
As many of you know, I often return to the theme of portraits of females carrying or interacting with animals. Here you’ll find an icon-like quality in the position of the hand and the bird, combined with the halo-like effect of her hair.

Letting go

It is all too easy to keep holding on to problems, worries, and grudges. But when you find the strength to let them go, it feels great – like a literal burden has been lifted from your shoulders. In this picture, I have explored that feeling.

When the lights go on again

The birds in the sky, the female character sheltered or in hiding under the umbrella – but the first thing that catches the eye is the lamppost with its cozy light shining on it all, mirroring the yellow building on the right.
